About us

Ever wish you could be part of a circle of writers sharing and discussing each other’s work, the way J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and Charles Williams once did? Do you have a book you’ve been revising and need thoughtful beta readers? Are you free on Sunday afternoons and looking for a creative place to spend them? Then the Pinklings might be for you.
This is a group of encouraging, honest, and inclusive writers and readers who want to help each other grow. We are here to workshop original writing, not to function as a book club. Each person will have up to fifteen minutes to share poems, chapters, short stories, or other work, followed by open discussion and feedback from the group. Submitting in advance is not required.
The group may include a range of genres. I primarily write psychological thrillers and literary fiction, though I enjoy seeing writers experiment and explore new forms.
The name Pinklings reflects that this is a space especially welcoming to LGBTQ voices. All backgrounds are welcome. While art can engage with political themes, our focus is on craft and storytelling, and we aim to keep discussions respectful and centered on the work itself.
If you are looking for a thoughtful, creative community on Sunday afternoons, pull up a chair.
