Paddle the Kentucky River Pool 6 from Oregon Road Boat Ramp

We're going to try a new (to us!) stretch of the Kentucky River, at the downstream end of Pool 6 in Mercer County. This is an out-and-back trip (no shuttle): we'll paddle upstream as far as we feel like, then turn around and paddle back to the boat ramp.

Currently the river is up after recent rains, but it's already beginning to drop, and will likely be back to normal summer pool conditions by Saturday. But we'll plan for a little bit of current paddling upstream, and maybe a little bit of a boost going home.

Paddles in the water at 11 a.m. Bring all your usual necessities: water, snacks, sunblock and sunglasses, and of course your PDF (required).

You must bring your own boat for this trip. Sorry, no rentals available.

As always, trips are dependent on weather conditions. If conditions warrant, we'll cancel by 8 a.m. Saturday and will place a notification here. Be aware that cell service isn't always good on the river!
