Paddle the Kentucky River Pool 7 from Camp Nelson RV Park

Let's visit one of the most spectacular sections of the Kentucky River Palisades before all the leaves fall off the trees! This is a Friday trip.

We'll put in at the Camp Nelson RV Park boat ramp ($5 launch fee, or maybe $3, cash only), paddle downstream as far as we feel like, and then return to the same place we put in -- no shuttling. There's almost no current on the river at the moment, so the upstream paddle shouldn't be difficult at all.

We'll plan to cover some river on this trip -- at least 5 miles out, 5 miles back. You're welcome to join us for all or part of the trip.

Paddles in the water at 11 a.m. Bring all your usual necessities: water, snacks, sunblock and sunglasses, and of course your PDF (required).

You must bring your own boat for this trip. Sorry, no rentals available.

As always, trips are dependent on weather conditions. If conditions warrant, we'll cancel by 8 a.m. Friday and will place a notification here. Be aware that cell service isn't always good on the river!
