Quick paddle on Taylorsville Lake at Possum Ridge
Details
Personal schedules and responsibilities are keeping trips short and nearby this summer. This will be a simple paddle on Taylorsville Lake in Kentucky. We'll put in at Possum Ridge Ramp and follow the shoreline to the left until we run out of time or water. Then we'll turn around and return to the put in. We'll likely cover less than 6 miles total this time.
Paddles in the water at 10:30 a.m. Bring all the usual stuff: pfd, sunglasses, hat, sunblock, hydration. No fee for the launch ramp. There are porta-potties on site, and flush toilets on the drive in. Plan to encounter powerboats while we're out.
You must bring your own boat for this trip -- sorry, no rentals available. This is not a float: we won't paddle too fast on this trip, but we will paddle. Because it's an out-and-back trip (no shuttle necessary) you can always accompany us for part of the trip and then head back when you're ready.
If the weather turns bad, we'll make the decision to cancel by 8 a.m. Sunday. Watch this page!
