Gordon Neighbourhood House began in 1942 as a place for residents in Vancouver’s Downtown-West End neighbourhoods to drop by for a cup of coffee. Today, we work closely with local residents, businesses and organizations to create dozens of programs, services and initiatives that respond to the needs and dreams of our neighbourhood. From childcare to seniors programs, we walk with our community through every chapter of life. We have more than 100 Active Volunteers, and over 50 Volunteer Programs.

Community Lunch Events:
Everyone is invited to a community lunch at Gordon Neighbourhood House on Mondays and Fridays. Community Lunches are an opportunity for community members to enjoy a meal together, meet new people, and catch up with friends in a casual environment. We are always looking for volunteers who can help cook meals, serve participants, and clean on Mondays and Fridays and occasionally for special events.

The initial sign-up information will be posted in our Event Comments on Meetup, and will be conducted all online. All future events will be organized by the organization during and after your application process.

Volunteer Type, Application Steps, Length of Volunteering:
1. Short-Term to Long-Term
2. Volunteer Application, Criminal Record Check (2-4 weeks), Organization Orientation
3. 3 months minimum, 6+ months preferred (optional to continue longer)

*Events will be conducted online in the Event Comments, and no Zoom link is required. As soon as the application information is posted in the comments at the stated day and time, please immediately fill out the organization's volunteer application. Have your resume, contact details, references, and schedule information available in advance for the event.
