What we’re about

The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a deeply rooted cultural tradition that goes far beyond simply drinking coffee—it’s a social and spiritual ritual symbolizing community, hospitality, and connection. Originating in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, this ceremony celebrates the process of preparing, serving, and enjoying coffee as a shared experience.
Social Importance:
The Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a time for gathering, storytelling, and meaningful conversations. It’s an opportunity to slow down, foster relationships, and build community. Whether shared among family, neighbors, or guests, the ceremony reflects Ethiopia’s emphasis on connection and hospitality.
Ethiopian coffee social brings this cultural experience to DC . Come share every Sunday from 11am-1pm. We host at Gueny’s Cafe which is known by its delicious authentic Ethiopian food and coffee. We encourage our members to take advantage of trying.
