🌿About Kiridoshi…
Overview of the Seven Kiridoshi Passes in Kamakura.
Kamakura is surrounded by mountains on three sides, which is a very advantageous geography for defense. However, it was inconvenient to transport goods, so roads were made by cutting through the mountain ridges. These are called Kiridoshi. Kiridoshi were important not only for transportation but also for strategy as they were the entrances and exits to Kamakura, so the mansions of influential people were located in the surrounding areas. There are also flat areas called "Hiraba" built on the mountaintops and mountainsides, so try to find them👀
Nagoe Kiridoshi are there is a 300m long important bank called “Ohoto”a steep bank that makes it difficult to attack and an artificial cliff that prevents enemy invasion, and you can experience the atmosphere of a time slip there.
And try to the Mt. Kinuhariyama (121m).From the summit you can see Kamakura city, Zaimokuza, Inamuragasaki and Enoshima.

After descending the mountain, it's about a 10-minute walk to Jomyoji Temple. If you'd like to sit on the tatami mats, order a matcha and sweets set and relax while gazing at the Japanese garden.

まずは、バスを降りたら材木座にある厄除けの「長勝寺」で参拝し10分ほど歩いて名越切通ハイキングコースに入ります。

鎌倉七ヶ所切通しの概要
鎌倉は三方を山に囲まれており、防衛には非常に有利な地形です。しかし、物資の輸送には不便であったため山の尾根を切り開いて道路が作られました。これを切通しといいます。切通しは交通だけでなく鎌倉の出入り口として戦略上も重要で周辺には有力者の屋敷が置かれていました。また、山頂や山腹には「平場」と呼ばれる平らな場所が作られているので、探してみてください👀
また、大空洞(おおほうとう)と呼ばれる300メートルに渡る大切岸、攻めづらい場所にした切岸、敵の侵入を防ぐ人工的な崖などがありそこはタイムスリップした雰囲気が味わえます。
そして、衣張山（121ｍ）は、山頂からの展望は鎌倉市街と材木座、稲村ヶ崎や江ノ島が一望できます。そこでランチタイム。
そして、山を降りて10分ほど歩くと「浄妙寺」そこで畳に上がってゆっくり休みたい方は、抹茶とお菓子で枯山水庭園を眺めながらゆっくりとお過ごしください。
