Join us for Dance Imrov Night, NYC's unique space for free, unfacilitated movement exploration that incorporates live and responsive improvised music. Our eclectic band of music and ritual-makers will be bringing us a special evening of inspiration.

At Dance Improv Night, dancers respond to the music and the music is influenced by the dancers, creating a feedback loop that moves all participants to deeper expression. Expect African rhythms and funky grooves that progress into flowing passages and still places. It will be a special evening of rhythmic and movement flow.

Each month, expect a rotating cast of musicians bringing their unique sounds, keeping the music alive, fresh and new. All are welcome, regardless of dance or movement experience. This is a safe and supportive (and drug/alcohol-free) atmosphere to explore by yourself or with others. Those who are into contact improv, ecstatic dance or other forms of free movement will find the evening to be a fun, interactive space to explore these forms. The Village Zendo has a hardwood floor, providing a low-impact dance surface. For directions or to learn about the Zendo see this link: https://villagezendo.org/
