The Seven Sisters Hike (Seaford to Eastbourne)
When: Saturday 15th March
Distance: 21km
Duration: approx 5.5 hours
Ascension: 600m 🌶️🌶️🌶️
A return to the South Downs National Park where we will start in the seaside town of Seaford, walking along the beach until we reach Cuckmere Haven before climbing the famous white chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters.
This one is familiar but never underestimate the ascents and descents, as it remains one of the most challenging hikes in England.
We will finish in Eastbourne with a well earned drink or two at The Hart, a local gay venue before the return to London.
Train times, return ticket to Eastbourne:
0854 - London Victoria
0901 - Clapham Junction
0910 - East Croydon
A great day out with like minded guys who enjoy the outdoors.
Newcomers welcome!
Note: we will need to change at Lewes to get a short train to Seaford (1003) to start the hike but will finish at Eastbourne.
I look forward to seeing some of you for another outdoor adventure!
HG Group Mantra 👂
Reminder before coming on a HG hike:
We come on hikes to have a fun day out, but always need to respect each other, our differences, the countryside, other walkers, and the animals whose homes we are spending time in.
To coin a phrase from another hike group, leave only footprints, wear appropriate clothing and ensure you have enough food and water. Trains will sometimes be delayed so always be mindful of evening plans if you're coming. Thank you!
