What we’re about
The spirit and intention of this group is to facilitate hopefully bi-monthly social mixer opportunities for those over age 45 who consider themselves to be “interested” & “available” men & women within Orange County (OC) of NYS. Current dating advice often tells us to “try out a new cafe” or “place of worship” or to take “new classes” to meet “new people”. In my experience however the downside to this advice has always been that everyone in those venues are either already paired off or much “too shy” to approach a stranger. Conversely it’s not always advisable to entertain a “total stranger” who may seem to want to date you purely for “safety” reasons. Sadly we live in a world of those who exploit opportunities to take advantage of others-especially if you are a woman! These scenarios can create social isolation for self-preservation. I also can fondly recall that back in the day before “the dating app phenomenon” social mixers were the way to go for people to meet! Therefore I really want to establish this group as a return to what was “good” about “the good old days”! I truly want to create safe social experiences for like-minded people to get to know one another face to face again!
