Barn Dance!
Details
Join us on Friday, March 6 for a night of fun, dancing, and laughter. No experience or partner needed. But it is nice to bring a friend or two. Dancing from circles, lines, and squares. Join Richard Lane, your leader, for a night to remember.
What is a barn dance you might ask? Well, many years ago before computers, TV, cars, and maybe electricity, people in the community would gather in someone's barn or a community hall, musicians, kids, Mom and Dad, Grandparents, etc, and the musicians would play music and someone would prompt members to dance some type of choreographed figures. The prompter would teach the figures a couple of times and then the dancers would just dance! Kids and adults alike would join the circles, squares, or lines. it was an opportunity for neighbors to get together, catch up with the town's going on, share a meal.
Now life is complicated but we are trying to recreate that community! Won't you join us?
