Why Men’s Equality Matters to Everyone
Join author, attorney, and Truth & Democracy Coalition founder Rich Procida, Esq. for a special International Men’s Day presentation and interactive community discussion.

Derived from Enlightenment humanism, our civil rights framework rests on the universal promise that equal dignity, individual agency, and protection under the law belong to every citizen. Yet, in modern public discourse, gender issues are often framed as a zero-sum war. Society frequently presumes male advantage is absolute while ignoring or pathologizing systemic male vulnerabilities—from premature mortality and workplace hazards to family court asymmetries and severe mental health crises.
Timed specifically for International Men’s Day, this interactive session explores how expanding our civil rights movement to include men’s well-being and fatherhood rights does not detract from women’s equality—it strengthens families, fosters healthier relationships, and protects our democratic institutions from destructive polarization.

💡 What We’ll Discuss

  • The Health & Mortality Gap: Examining the global 5.4-year female-to-male life expectancy gap, the 91%+ occupational fatality rate among men, and the tragic male suicide crisis (~80% of completed suicides).
  • Fatherhood & Family Law Reform: Moving past primary-caregiver judicial biases toward 50/50 presumptive shared parenting to protect children’s rights to both loving parents.
  • Intimate Partner Abuse & Support Deficits: Addressing the empirical realities of male victimization (over 1 in 4 men experience intimate partner violence) and the urgent need for inclusive domestic abuse support infrastructure.
  • Relationships & Dating Market Polarization: How educational shifts, traditional provider expectations, and digital dating dynamics contribute to widespread young male isolation and how we can foster authentic gender détente.
  • The Polarization Trap & Civil Rights: How excluding men from legitimate advocacy fuels political alienation—and why extending universal civil rights protections to everyone safeguards constitutional democracy.
