3 Steps to Spanish Fluency: Online Workshop.

This workshop is for people wishing to learn Spanish to a high level of competency, especially if they have had trouble progressing in the past and are looking for a new way to improve.
The purpose of this workshop is to educate learners on a 3 step method to become fluent. This method helps learners overcome the common obstacles that stop them achieving fluency.
Francis Collier is a Spanish teacher and education specialist living in Mexico and will take the group through the session educating them on this process to fluency.
At the end of this free workshop information on paid Spanish lessons for anyone wishing to go further with Francis will be given.
The 3 Step Process:
Step 1: The 12 Sounds.

In order to achieve fluency it is important to be able to make ALL of the sounds used in Spanish.
In Spanish there are 12 new sounds that do not exist in English and most students do not know what these are and have never focused on practising them.
These sounds must be learnt to a high level or the student will always have trouble keeping up with the speed of a real native conversation.
What these 12 sounds are will be covered in the workshop.
Step 2: Native Phrases.

Before going into a full speed conversation with a native speaker it is sensible to prepare for the experience.
Very often Spanish learners learn to speak with someone who is slowing down the conversation for them.
Then when they are presented with a native level conversation they cannot keep up. Often they don't feel they are able to say something fast enough before the conversation moves on.
Very commonly this is happening for two reasons.
Reason 1. The 12 new sounds in Spanish have not been learnt and therefore can not be recognised at speed.
Reason 2. They cannot recognise the Native Phrases used.
What are Native Phrases?
There are combinations of words that are used so commonly in a language that they are squeezed together into a whole new faster sound. Think of the way someone might say “What do you want?” to their friend if they are in a drive through. It’s more like “wadayawan?” It’s exactly the same in Spanish, there are many Native Phrases that native speakers use everyday. If these Native phrases aren't learnt and trained then they most definitely will not be understood in a high speed conversation.
There are techniques that can be used to prepare for this and practise these Native Phrases and this will be discussed in the workshop by Francis.
Step3: Native Speed Conversations.

The third step is to practise in native speed conversation.
This step is the main place that Spanish students get stuck. It is very common for a student to spend much more time practising on an app than speaking with a real person.
Francis will share information on how the brain absorbs information during one of these conversations and why it is so important to include them if you wish to become fluent.
