Join herbalist Gradey Proctor for a sliding-scale plant walk delving into botanical ID, ethical foraging, and herbal remedies. This month’s focus is on winter twigs, gathering bark, and how the cold season’s weather creates perfect opportunities to wildcraft plant medicine. (Please note, we will not be gathering plants on this hike!) This class kicks off a monthly offering where we explore the seasons through the story of our local flora, focusing on ecology, plant identification, sustainable wildcrafting, and herbal & edible uses, depending on the seasons.

We’ll meet at the Visitors Center at Powell Butte. (Enter the park from SE 162nd and Powell. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged.) Plant walk will be held rain or shine! Dress for the weather, and bring whatever you need for a 2-mile loop hike.

Class cost is $0-$40, no one turned away for lack of funds. Please bring cash for this sliding scale offering!

No registration required. Contact Gradey directly at medicine-garden.net with any questions.
