This hike will take us to interesting sights on the southern end of Daddys Creek Cumberland Trail (CT) Segment and also wander a bit into the Crab Orchard Mountain area which is being planned for a trail route up and over to connect to Ozone Falls. We will park some cars at the Powerline Crossing off Hebbertsburg Rd and drive to the CT Daddys Creek parking area. We will start the hike north on the CT and enjoy a nice overlook of Daddys Creek and then down along the creek for a mile to the old Hatfield Road ford crossing. A short ways up from the ford is a large abandoned sandstone quarry which we will make a visit to then return and hike back south along the creek. We will pass by the side trail to the parking area and continue south along the CT which traverses several hills and valleys and includes a few views and a cave along the way. At the end of the trail near the powerline crossing we will make another side trip up an old road to near the top of the Crab Orchard ridgeline and enjoy views of the Daddys Creek Valley and also to the east. The future Cumberland Trail Crab Orchard segment will cover a similar route to the top of the mountain. We will return back down the hill to cars parked near Hebbertsburg Rd and shuttle back to the main parking.
