For those of you "marking your map," here's a chance to get to one of those trails that we typically don't hike. From Abrams Creek Ranger Station, we'll take the Cooper Road Trail until we reach the Cane Creek Trail. We’ll take this out to the park boundary and back, crossing streams along the way (there’s no other purpose for this trail!). Then we'll return back on Cooper Road. You may want to dress for briers and other possible overgrowth on the Cane Creek Trail.
* Total hike distance is 10.2 miles; rated Moderate.
* For more information and to register for this event, go to the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club website HERE.
* Our Moderate hikes are: 5-10 miles and/or elevation change of 1000-1800', on-trail hiking. Hikers should be regularly hiking 5+ miles with 400-500 feet of continuous elevation gain over a mile, at a 2.0-2.5 mph pace.
