A Time of Hope: The story of Scotland’s Centre for Confidence and Wellbeing.

We’re looking forward to welcoming attendees to Partickhill Bowling Club for our next assembly on Sunday 7th September, 10:45am.

Join author Carol Craig as she reflects the work of the Centre for Confidence and Wellbeing, an organisation founded with funding from the Scottish Executive on the back of her first book in 2003, ‘The Scots Crisis of Confidence.’

In her talk, Carol will discuss her latest book, ‘A Time of Hope: the story of the Centre for Confidence and Well-being,’ and her updated analysis of Scotland. She’ll share her thoughts on why the country is beset by so many health and social problems and the causes of this, discussing the impact of the Reformation and the legacy of Calvinism on Scottish attitudes and behaviour.

This is sure to be a thought-provoking talk that will lead to lots of rich discussion afterwards. And we’ll be back to our usual format of poems, songs, tea and biscuits. We hope to see you there!
