Join us for our next Sunday Assembly Glasgow where we will be joined by Rayya Ghul who will speak about traditional Palestinian embroidery and bring along some hand-embroidered dresses for you to view or even try on.
The art of traditional embroidery is widespread in Palestine and is inscribed in the United Nations register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The embroidery is most commonly seen on the beautiful hand-embroidered dresses or ‘thobes’ that are an important feature of Palestinian culture and connection to the land.
