Fire and Light - Light Painting Workshop

This outdoor event is dependent on weather.

Creating images with light or light painting is a unique and popular form of photography. It's moving a light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or space. All you need is an interchangeable lens camera (ILC), a tripod and a remote switch.

The workshop will get you out of the "auto" zone of your camera. Photographer David Frayer will lead you along with model & photographer Kat Fodor through your camera settings and allow you to create memorable images. The workshop is for all levels of photographers.

Fee - $75. You can pay day of the event cash or check. To pay by credit card please call Johnson PhotoImaging (941) 896-9921 during normal store hours. There are no refunds unless the workshop is cancelled.

As a general rule models are usually tipped for their services and would be appreciated. Tipping is a personal choice and at your discretion.

Where & When - 8PM - March 21st. We will meet at the jetty near the South Coquina Beach Entrance. If, the weather changes we will meet at JPI.

Equipment - Cameras - An ILC system. Either a D-SLR camera or Mirrorless System and bring a remote switch. - Tripods - Something very sturdy. Definitely no monopods. - Lenses - You can bring any lens you wish to use for the workshop. However, lenses that include an effective focal length from 24-70mm would be ideal.

Optional: Bring a chair - There are no chairs nearby so you be will standing for the entire time.

Other Considerations: There are restrooms at the beach just not near where we will be. You will need a flash light and sensible shoes on the beach.
