Lunch & Coding Workshop: Live data feeds and back testing Trading Strategies

Basil Box has allowed us to use their space for us to code and network. There is no meetup fee for this event but please help support the venue with a food and/or drink purchase. More info regarding their menu can be found at https://thebasilbox.com/food/ .

In order to participate in the coding workshop its required that you bring a laptop. We will be programming using python so its also required that you have python installed on your laptop and for you to go through a basic online bootcamp on how to program with python (https://www.learnpython.org/).

The goal for this event will be for us to connect to a live data price feed and store that data into a database. Then we will create a few trading strategies and create simulated buy and sell signals using the stored data. Also we will back test to see how a trading strategy has performed on historic data. Please note this workshop is for educational purposes and all code discussed at this event should not be used in actual trades. This is a collaborative event so we will all help each other as much as possible.
