What we're about

This meetup is for anyone who wants to learn public speaking and leadership skills in a friendly, fun, and safe environment. We are part of Toastmasters International and follow the meeting structure of toastmasters clubs all over the world. Members start by helping during meetings by timing speeches, practicing impromptu speaking, and giving a 4-6 minute speech about themselves. Komen Toastmasters has been meeting in the Southwest Community for over 20 years. We were founded to help people speak up about breast cancer; many of the original members were involved with the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. Komen Toastmasters Meeting

Online event

Komen Toastmasters is now meeting remotely, via Zoom. We offer you an opportunity to practice your video communication skills. Other than the video platform, this is a typical Toastmasters meeting. We start with introductions, followed by ground rules and prepared speeches. This is followed by table topics, which provides members an opportunity to practice impromput speaking. We round out the meeting with speaker evaluations and constructive feedback.
