The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton

We're kicking off the Re-Readables book club with a back-to-school classic... and by classic, we mean from the 60s. S.E. Hinton was only 16 when she wroteThe Outsiders; it's a dramatic and enduring work of young adult fiction that laid the groundwork for the genre. A coming-of-age tale of a boy who finds himself on the outskirts of society, it remains as powerful today as it was the day it was published. Narrated by Ponyboy, this story of haves vs. have-nots reminds us that "nothing gold can stay."
