Backpacking Trip to Mt Adams High Camp at Glacier Lake

Details

Let's go on an overnight backpacking adventure on Mt Adams. We are taking the Killen Creek Trail up to Glacier Lake at about 7600 feet. It's about 6 miles with 3000 feet of gain. We should see lots of snow, and hopefully some mountain goats, maybe pika or marmots as well!!

I'm setting the start time for the backpack at 10am for those who want to drive up on Saturday morning. I suggest that folks drive up on Friday after work and camp at Kileen Creek Campground, or Takhlakh Lake Campground. If everyone drives up on Friday, we can leave earlier and beat some of the heat, so please let me know what your plans are. I also strongly suggest carpooling. Just post a message here if you need, or can provide a ride.

We are going to get up by a glacial melt pond called Glacier Lake. We can explore the area around camp, climb higher up the ridge for more views, or just hang around camp and chill out. Let's hope for some agreeable weather. On Sunday, after breakfast, we head back to our cars. We can stop somewhere for food on our way back home.

Everyone goes on the waitlist first, send me a message and let me know that you want to go and I will move you to going. Any questions, just ask.
