🚲Cycling tour Castricum to Wormerveer.🍃🐑🐄 Incl lunch at the river🏞️ 30km

Come and join us on our second cycling trip from Castricum (30 km round trip)

After our successful first cycling trip to IJmuiden, feel welcome to join this rural cycling trip from Castricum train station to Wormerveer.

We start from the back of Castricum train station, in front of museum Huis van Hilde. There is an option to rent an OV fiets from the front of this station. Please check the availability online beforehand.

We will first head to Uitgeest and its lake and surroundings. Our first stop will be at the terrace of a canoe rental company where we can enjoy coffee and fresh oven baked ‘gevulde koeken’ when we are lucky.

After our first stop we will continue our tour through the country side and enjoy the scenery. We will pass Krommeniedijk, a small and charming village.

Our destination is Wormerveer, located at the famous Zaan river. Also tourist attraction ‘de Zaanse Schans’ is located at this river.

At the curve of the river we will enjoy lunch overlooking the river and its industrial heritage like beautiful old warehouses of the past, when Zaandam and its river were even more flourishing than Amsterdam.

Finally we will continue our trip and head back to Castricum. Of course there is an option to have an extra stop for a refreshing drink.

We will cycle at a relaxed pace of about 15 km per hour.
