We're going hiking again! Join us on Saturday 9th of August for a 9km walk in and around Baarn! We'll start at 10:30 am from Baarn train station and hike through vast forests and beautiful estates, such as the Baarnse Bos and Landgoed Groeneveld, before arriving back to Baarn train station.
Do you think about joining, but you're not sure what this is about? Well, Utrecht Hiking Community in collaboration with UR-Glocal aims to organise one hike per month. If you're in for a hike with a bunch of friendly other people, you are very welcome to join, no matter whether you are an expat, professional, nomad, local or a student. The hikes are a way to meet people while being active and exploring a place you might not be going to otherwise. If your aim is to hike fast, we might not be the right hiking group for you though. For us it's more about having a fun walk, seeing nice places and socialising.
Don't forget to put it into your agenda: Saturday August 9th, 10.30AM - hiking time! 😀 Bring good walking shoes, your phone/photo camera, something to eat/drink for on the way and a good mood! Dogs are allowed on this route and can be off their leash on a big part of the route.
Please try to arrive on time. We won't let the whole group wait in case you're arriving late. You can however send a message on WhatsApp to +31621177691, so we can send you our live location and you can try to catch up with the group.

Unfortunately there's only one restaurant close-by to the train station and it usefully full around lunch time on Saturdays, so we won't be going there afterwards. We can however go for a picknick afterwards. If you want to join that, please bring some food and drinks or buy them at the Stationshuiskamer shop in the station of Baarn.
Organising these hikes comes with some costs, a.o. the MeetUp membership fee and costs and time spent on exploring the routes before walking them with you.
