8km hike west of Utrecht, passing by Kasteel De Haar

We're going hiking again! On Saturday 14th of June we're going for an 8km walk on the western side of Utrecht with Vleuten train station being the start and end point. Put on your hiking shoes and enjoy the peaceful meadows, quiet country roads and the highlight of the walk: the picturesque Kasteel De Haar.

Utrecht Hiking Community is regularly organising social hikes in and around Utrecht, open for everyone to join. Usually many expats are joining, as well as some locals, of all ages. We're not about hiking fast, but about enjoying to be outside in nature, being active while exploring new places while in the company of like-minded people from all over the world.

We're organising this hike together with UR-Glocal, which is also organising many other kinds of activities for expats in the Utrecht Region.

We're planning to start our hike from Vleuten train station at 10.30AM. Please arrive before that time, as we don't want to keep the whole group waiting for you. We'll be waiting you in the tunnel under the station.

Unfortunately there are hardly any facilities at the station: no shops, no restaurant and no toilet. Please use a restroom before going to the starting point. Halfway the walk we'll have a short sanitary stop at Kasteel De Haar.

Vleuten train station can easily be reached by train and by bus. For those coming by car there is a large free parking lot at De Sporeplein.

Please bring something to drink to stay hydrated during the walk. After we arrive back to the train station, anybody who would like may join as we'll try to find a nice lunch in the center of Vleuten.

Please note: a visit to Kasteel De Haar is not included in this walk. We'll only be passing by and can see it from a little distance. If you would like to visit the castle, you can of course join the walk until we reach Kasteel De Haar and explore the castle on your own. For this you would need to have a ticket.
