The search for great machine learning models is about overcoming conflicts.  You want accurate models, but they should not overfit.  You want more features to improve accuracy, but not too many to avoid the curse of dimensionality.  It looks like simultaneously optimizing multiple conflicting criteria should be a standard solution in your data science toolbox.  But for some reason, not many people know about this secret of great modeling.  Ingo will introduce methods for multi-objective optimization in machine learning and feature engineering in this session.
