First Hike, Castlewood Canyon

For our first hike, we will be meeting at Castlewood Canyon State Park at 9:30 am on Monday 9/8/25 on the Bridge Canyon Overlook (in the red circle in the photo above). Enter the park from the east entrance. This entrance is on Colorado 83 about 5 miles south of Franktown, CO. This entrance will bring you into the photo above from the south. Make a right into the parking lot marked with a P in the photo, then walk down the trail to the overlook. We can meet, chat a little, then my plan is to hike along the Canyon View trail for as long as we feel like it. Monday should be nice. I know this is short notice, but I didn't want to wait too long between forming the group and doing our first hike. If you can't make this one, I'll try to schedule another hike within the next couple of weeks. I'll try to do the next one on a day other than Monday, in case Mondays don't work for some people. 9:30 is a little early, but Monday should be warm. I want to hike before it gets too hot. I plan to wear a blue hat and a black shirt, neither with any logos or words, so I should be easy to spot. If no one shows, I will leave the overlook and start hiking by 9:45. Hope to see you Monday!
