Spruce Mountain Open Space Hike

Spruce Mountain Open Space is about 15 miles south of Castle Rock, not far from I-25. The hike up to the top, around the loop and then back to the parking lot is between 4 1/2 and 5 miles. Should take a little over 2 hours, maybe 2 1/2. There is about 600 feet of elevation gain. The hike is mostly in the trees and offers nice views of the surrounding countryside. I plan to arrive in the parking lot about 9:15 and begin the hike at 9:30. The address is 13415 S Spruce Mountain Rd, Larkspur, CO 80118. Follow I-25 South to S Spruce Mountain Rd. (exit 173)
Follow S Spruce Mountain Rd south for 9 min (5.7 mi)
The parking lot will be on the right.
