This open discussion builds on the ideas introduced in the recent talk:
God Power: From Myth to Manhattan Project and Beyond
“Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” — Bhagavad Gita, recalled by Oppenheimer

We’ll be using that presentation as a shared reference point, but this event is focused on dialogue and collaborative exploration.

You do not need to have attended the original event to join. We’ll begin with a brief recap of the core ideas — such as:

  • The original benchmarks of God Power (omniscience, cataclysm, creation of life, immortality, etc.)
  • Technologies that now seem to approximate those ancient powers
  • The idea of a modern God Power Scale, beyond the Kardashev scale
  • Why certain capabilities (like nuclear weapons or AGI) still feel mythic
  • The aesthetics of power in sci-fi worldbuilding (e.g. Foundation)

From there, we’ll open the floor for discussion — inviting reflections, questions, speculations, and challenges from everyone in the group. You don’t need to be an expert in AI, physics, mythology, or history. All perspectives are welcome.

This event is for anyone curious about the deep arc of civilization — and how close we may be to stepping into powers once reserved only for the gods.
