See all- Western Horrors - Bone Tomahawk & Ravenous at The Black Potion!Black Potion San Antonio, San Antonio, TX, TX
Starting at 6:00pm on Sunday, July 20th, The Black Potion is heading out west for a double-feature of western horrors!
6:00pm - Bone Tomahawk (2015)
8:25pm - Ravenous (1999)6:00pm – Bone Tomahawk (2015) - A slow-burning, savage tale starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, and Richard Jenkins. Civility meets cannibalism in this frontier rescue mission gone horribly wrong. Grit your teeth... and maybe don’t eat before.
8:25pm – Ravenous (1999) - A wickedly dark, snow-drenched blend of horror and satire with Guy Pearce, Robert Carlyle, and that unforgettable score. Manifest destiny never tasted so strange.
These are two tales of hunger and ruin on the edge of the frontier. Where law fades, the flesh betrays, and survival feeds something far worse...
I'll be at the Black Potion (1901 Fredericksburg Rd) by 5:30pm setting things up for showtime and welcoming all attendees. Come grab a cold drink and a snack out front & join me back in the theater (past the bar, down the hall, second door on the right) before showtime!
Free parking is available in front and along the side of the theater, as well as in a big lot behind the store across Lynwood Ave.
As always, Black Potion Movie Daze screenings are FREE—so grab your friends & family and come join us! Hope to see you there!!
- "WTFilm" Westerns at The Black Potion!Black Potion San Antonio, San Antonio, TX, TX
Starting at 6:00pm on Sunday, July 27th, The Black Potion is screening two wild and eclectic films to wrap up it's month o' westerns!
6:00pm -The Quick and the Dead (1995)
8:00pm - The Good, The Bad, The Weird (2008)6:00pm – The Quick and the Dead (1995) - Sam Raimi cranks the Western genre to eleven in this hyper-stylized shootout showdown. Sharon Stone stars as a mysterious gunslinger in a town where duels are sport—and the cast is stacked: Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, and Leonardo DiCaprio all trade bullets and attitude. Campy, cool, and kinetic, The Quick and the Dead is a slick, pulpy blast with Raimi’s signature flair in every frame.
8:00pm – The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) - Set in 1930s Manchuria, this South Korean genre mashup delivers nonstop action, wild characters, and a treasure-hunt chase with no brakes. Think Mad Max meets Sergio Leone, with bandits on motorcycles, train robberies, and chaotic shootouts across the desert. Kim Jee-woon directs with manic energy and whip-crack style—The Good, the Bad, the Weird is pure cinema joy.
These are two guns-blazing genre benders that twist the Western into something wild, weird, and wonderfully unhinged. Don’t miss out!
