Hello, MMMovie Fans!

I'm very excited to announce that I'll be hosting MYSTERY MOVIE MARATHON: X, benefitting the San Antonio Food Bank, in the Black Potion Movie Daze Theater on July 18th, from 12:30 PM to midnight!

We'll be screening six mystery films. Each movie could be a blockbuster or an indie; a tearjerker, a terror, or a laugh riot. The only thing we're sure of is that beyond a few hints, each title will remain a mystery until we hit play.

Here's our schedule:
12:30p - Romantic/Dark Comedy (1984)
2:45p - Sci-Fi/Horror (1959)
4:00p - Drama/Thriller (2023)
5:40p - Animated/Sci-Fi (2023)
7:20p - Action/Crime (1988)
9:10p - Action/Thriller (2014)

A little background — for the past nine years, right around my birthday, I've gathered a bunch of friends for the Mystery Movie Marathon (MMM): a multi-hour event where we watch movies back-to-back-to-back-to... you get the picture.

A handful of friends each brings a movie, keeping the title secret so that no one — not even yours truly — knows everything we'll be watching.

Over the years we've screened everything from The Muppets Take Manhattan, My Sassy Girl, Rumor Has It..., and Dragonslayer to Vertigo, Play Misty for Me, Akira, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, and Roar!. Part of the fun is never knowing whether the next movie will be a beloved classic, a hidden gem, an international favorite, or something so strange you'll be talking about it for years afterward.

Last year's lineup included Extreme Job, Labyrinth, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, The Day of the Dolphin, Watcher in the Woods, and Cheap Thrills.

A complete list of every MMM film screened over the years can be found here:

Ten years later, we're still gathering around mystery movies and raising food for our neighbors in need.

Some people come for one movie. Some stay for a double-feature. Some numb their butts all afternoon and evening long. However long you stay, it's always a fantastic day of movies, surprises, and community.

MMM is completely free to attend, but I do ask that you consider donating cash and/or food to support the San Antonio Food Bank if you're able. Every dollar donated helps provide meals to families in need right here in our community.

So save the date, grab some friends, some cash, and some food, and come enjoy some movies!

Stay tuned for more details, donation updates, and maybe a few clues along the way.
