Wild Horse Nine | Sunday Matinee

I hear this film is an Oscar contender for:

• 🏆 Best Picture
• 🎬 Best Director — Martin McDonagh
• ✍️ Best Original Screenplay — Martin McDonagh
• 👨 Best Actor — John Malkovich
• 🎥 Potentially cinematography, editing, and other technical categories

Set in 1973, shortly before Chile’s military coup, the film follows two longtime CIA agents, Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell), who are sent from Santiago to Easter Island on a mysterious mission.

What starts as a seemingly routine assignment becomes increasingly complicated as they confront old secrets, political conspiracies, their own troubled pasts, and questions about loyalty and morality. Chris also develops an unexpected connection with two rebellious Chilean students, which throws the mission further off course.
