Shrewsbury Riverside and Old Canal, Evening Walk, around (6 miles).
Details
Would you like to join me on this evening walk. This virtually flat, easy walk with only eight steps to walk down to reach the river and one slight incline. We will be combining this walk with members of Ads Ventures. There maybe some mud in places so walking boots or similar sturdy footwear is recommended. Generally walking on well used paths, there are no stiles to climb over. The car park is free after 6 pm with no ticket required.
This walk can only go ahead if the river water levels are low enough for us to access the paths.
You will need to bring along a good torch or head torch light.
Note: Dogs will have to be kept on a short lead at all times. This is for the safety and comfort of everyone.
Route:
We will be walking past the Abbey, down some steps and along the river to the Weir then on towards the old canal and towards Haughmond Hill. We then turn around and retrace our steps back almost the same way after entering woodland.
There are a few places to choose from for those of us who would like to go for a post walk drink afterwards.
