Llangollen, Garth Trevor and Trevor Rocks

This is an 11.2 mile walk taking in the beauty of the area around Llangollen with more than 90% of the route on paths new to Pathfinders.
Starting from the bridge we head towards Castell Dinas Bran, turning right at the base of the hill to pick up a short section of the Panorama Walk and Offa’s Dyke Path on our way to Garth Trevor via Trevor Hall Wood. We then change direction towards Eglwyseg mountain along higher ground above Trevor Rocks, returning by circling the base of Castell Dinas Bran. With a total of around 2,000 feet of ascent we see many paths with long steady ascents rather than any steep climbs but a good level of fitness is required. There are two tricky descents, one very short and one longer, steeper one where if you have sticks you’re advised to use them or, if you have a bum, you’re advised to use that.
