Abergavenny Weekend - Sunday

Details

The Blorenge
At 1,841 feet high, The Blorenge overlooks the valley of the River Usk and is situated on the southeastern corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
This is a nice relaxed 8 mile walk with just over 1000 ft of ascent. A great way to finish off our weekend and look back at the spectacular views this area has to offer.
Starting from Keepers Pond, we will follow the path alongside the pond and around the length of The Blorenge before descending down to its base and into the Punchbowl. The Punchbowl is as it suggests, a bowl formed by The Blorenge and surrounding hills with a lovely lake at its base. The perfect tea stop.
Beware, after our brief stop, we have a short sharp climb out of The Punch Bowl as we make our way to ‘the lane with a view’ and the start of our slow and steady ascent up The Blorenge to its Trig point.
At the highest point, we will enjoy lunch, complete with the spectacular views, before embarking on a nice steady descent back to the car.
