From Rhewl to Llantysilio returning via Cymmo

A new walk to Pathfinders. Apart from the paths on Llantysilio, the whole route is new to us and provides stunning views all day. At just eight miles there's not much distance, but with 2,000 feet of ascent there's plenty of challenge.
Starting from Capel Hebron in Rhewl (see photo) we head to Llandynan before turning sharp left to climb towards Maesyrychen Mountain. This does mean that the first two miles are a constant uphill walk as we ascend around 1,000 feet, but we will take our time and have allowed for plenty of rest stops. We walk around Maesyrychen Mountain on our way to Llantysilio, where we climb to the trig. After lunch we drop down to Mynydd--bychan and a have a very pleasant return through Cymmo and Cae Llewelyn, which does involve more ascent, again at a pace to suit all.
There's a couple of stretches where we walk through gorse for those who need to decide whether to wear shorts.
