This walk was a deluge last time so thought I would give it another go. In fact there were sightings of an old bloke called Noah and a large boat with pairs of animals aboard. Wonder how that ended up?
The walk starts at the Village hall in Upton Magna (SY4 4TZ) where there is limited parking although there is lots of additional parking in the side roads and down towards the Haughmond Inn from the Church of St Lucia.
The walk proceeds across minor roads and field paths to the base of Haughmond Hill where there is an ascending path towards the site of Nancy's Cottage. From here we proceed mainly along the Shropshire Way over hill paths and roads and fields eventually returning to Upton Magna.
There will be the usual short break around halfway so bring drinks and a snack. Dogs, as usual, to be on a close lead due to the presence of farm animals. Walk is moderate and approximately 6-7 miles in length. Those in need of post-walk refreshment have the Haughmond Inn, Pam has her operation scheduled for the 28th May (and has been instructed to walk no more than 3 miles) and will therefore join us for the second half of this walk (at the shropshire way path). The Inn is dog-friendly and the main lounge is named Basil's Lounge which must mean something.
