Shifnal And Evelith Mill And Grindleforge.
Details
A 5-6 mile easy walk. Meet at the free car park in Aston Street, Shifnal - TF11 8DW, which is situated behind the Co-op in the centre of Shifnal Town with plenty of room.
The walk takes us out of town along tracks, field paths, and woodlands. We pass Evelith Mill which featured in the flight of King Charles II from the Battle of Worcester, and enter King Charles' Wood. From here we circle along the Grindleforge extension then round towards Kemberton and back to the town centre. No major hills to worry about and the occasional stile. We will take a break approximately halfway so bring snacks and a drink. It may be muddy and/or rainy so appropriate gear is required. Dogs are, as ever, pemissible provided they can be put on a leash where animals (ie sheep, cows, et al) are likely to be encountered.
After the walk there are several nearby pubs in Shifnal town centre for a drink if required.
