What we’re about

Calling all Knitwear Fashionistas! I know that knitting has this "home made" label. I want to change that to "exquisite". You have to find the exact yarn, style of garment, the pattern in your size, length of body and sleeves etc etc.. now what are your chances to find that?
I am organizing this group because I am a professional designer for knitwear. I am published in many magazines, I knit by hand and machine my own collection. I mostly do custom work because we women are all differently shaped and have different tastes. I am a professional teacher for 40 years and still learning from other knitters. Come and join us! We welcome total beginners, advanced beginners and advanced knitters. I teach Continental way of knitting or the American way.
And crocheting, designing and finishing your garment will also be on the agenda.
After several meetups at "Mad Knitter's Yarn" in Henderson I am happy to say that the place is absolutely perfect for us to meet. We can bring our own stash and tools, no pressure to buy something you already have just because you are in the store. I had meetup groups before and years ago we could meet at different places like public libraries, Barnes and Nobles etc. These places are not available any longer for different reasons. I want to thank the owner Virginia who is also at the meetup and any class I teach :). I teach several classes there, starting with design to make you independent from patterns and to make sure your creation fits perfectly. Then Continental Knitting with all the different techniques and patterns and of course "Finishing like a Pro". This last class is the most important because finishing makes or breaks your knits. Get in touch with me for more information regarding schedules, private classes etc.
