What we’re about
Do you play Soccer already but not getting enough passes from the team ? Or you lose the ball too easily? Or you never played soccer before but always wanted to try?
This meetup is suitable for complete beginners, people who haven't played since high school, and those with intermediate skills who want to play for fun without being too serious.
We want to play and develop our skills together in a fun, casual game for beginners especially but all levels are welcome.

We will have a game of up to 7-a-side.
This game is suitable for players at beginner or intermediate levels. We aim to have fun with a soccer game that is inclusive for players at different skill levels.
Please bring both a dark and a light colour shirt so that we can split the team evenly. Please bring a spare ball if you have one.The game will kick off at 9:10 - if you are late and have not notified the organiser in advance, you may be asked to wait until we take a water break before joining.
Please check on Friday afternoon if you are in the final attendee list.
You can still come if you are on the waitlist, however you will ONLY get a game if we have a no-show, no guarantees!
An announcement will be made at least one hour before the event if we have to cancel because of the weather.

We will try to be at Locations G1 to G5, look for players wearing light or dark shirts.
If you cannot find us, please leave a comment or send a message in the event chart.
This group is usually FREE to attend, we DO NOT charge an annual fee to play in our events.
However, every 6 months a $2 donation will be asked for help to pay for the subscription costs.

Before doing anything else! Meetup is terrible and going down like a stone, so join both the Downtomeet Sydney Social group (https://www.downtomeet.com/Sydney-Social) and Social Soccer in Southern Sydney Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/tempesoccer) so we can diversify sources.
Let's play beginner/intermediate casual soccer at Tempe Reserve; they have a variety of pitches and it's waiting for you to have a game there. Meet at the back grass field / diagonal area near the new toilet block (unless the synthetic field is available, in which case we'll play there). There's plenty of free car-parking around, and it's also a ~15min walk from Wolli Creek Station. We'll have 1-2 games around 30-40m wide.
Please note comp teams may play games in the afternoon needing us to move, alternatively on the very odd occasion the synthetic fields are available due to comp team forfeit ... we use bags/portable goals so are easily identifiable that way. Someone will comment with alternative location in the grounds, should that be the case.
Please note:
- We'll play from 3.30pm. Sign up properly, don't come if only waitlisted, and arrive on time or not long after or you will have to wait before playing.
- This group is for beginner and intermediate levels only and we play respectfully. If you're advanced, this is not the group for you. Go find some other group to play with.
- Only come if well. Bring plenty of fluids, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat etc as appropriate.
- Downtomeet and Meetup are the main sources of truth for my soccer events. While we also spread the word on the Social Soccer in Southern Sydney and Banter Facebook page, no other groups should be relied on.
- If you have a soccer ball and/or pump, bring them along to ensure that we start relatively soon after the advertised start time. Also bring along a dark shirt and white shirt (NO GREY NOR BROWN) for even teams.
