Operation Barbarosa No, Not That One From WWII
Details
Apparently the Barbarosa has reopened after being swept away during the flooding from Hurricane Helene. Let's go there. Their website says it has been rebuilt and is open for business..
For those of you who haven't been, The Barbarosa is a friendly biker bar and grill situated on the banks of the French Broad River near Del Rio.
The route is on easy, serene roads suitable for beginners, It's about 1 1/2 hour ride there.
Let's meet up at the Shell/Duncan Donuts station just off off Exit 37 on I-26 in Erwin on the east side of where Rte 107 crosses I-26.
The food at the Barbarosa is fair but the real attraction is that it is a very friendly and safe biker joint and the scenery right on the French Broad River is pretty spectacular. There are ample outside picnic tables right beside the river. The river rapids provide a nice backdrop.
They only accept cash. Be sure and bring some. Your debit and credit cards won't work there.
As always bring rain gear just in case.
