Hello, group members & welcome to our first in-person meetup. We meet regularly on Sundays to discuss which social events we attended or did not, as well as why. Other topics include being ready, having expectations, disappointment, anger, surprise, confusion, intention, shyness, having a game plan, what to say, how to answer questions, timing, luck, the next day, social practice, and anxiety.
I wear a Meetup Baseball cap & have a group page on a desktop stand. Name tags, index cards, & pens will be provided to a member if they wish. A name tag will let others know & remind them who you are. The index card & pen are to write down a question to ask.
I begin at about 2:10 PM to allow members additional time to arrive if someone is running late. You may come and go as you please. If a member has time constraints, let me know so you can speak first if you wish to.
The format is as follows:
I start the Meetup by welcoming members and thanking you for attending.
I briefly provide some background about myself.
I ask members to introduce themselves to the group & say what they are looking for and which in-person events they have attended.
We can discuss and review the events we have attended as well as those we plan to attend. We can share experiences and provide encouragement, support, and advice.
The rules of the Meetup:
Allow a member to speak; do not talk over someone.
No yelling, insults, or foul language. We do not know what others have gone through or how they are feeling.
Be patient. Be polite.
Agree to disagree.
Do not arrive at the event impaired.
I plan to attend an event every day and am glad to discuss as well as review what happened.
