First Friday in Old City
Details
The latest news: We have an itinerary! If you're running late or lose us, this may help (it has in the past). That said, since I won't be leading any tours, I'll be able to check my phone for texts and messages (though I find the former easier to manage than the latter and will email my number on Thursday) more often than usual. By the way, the times listed are how early or late the particular gallery is open on Friday, not how long we're likely to be there! :)

Update! Since I posted this event, the following was announced:
"As part of DesignPhiladelphia, Carpenters’ Hall will host the opening reception for a temporary exhibit on Friday, October 3, 5–7 p.m. The exhibit features panels highlighting current historic preservation projects across Greater Philadelphia that place accessibility at the center of their design. Light refreshments will be served." O.K., the above doesn't fit into the typical "art exhibit" category, but it does appear to be an experience unique to Philly and unusual for First Friday. (I've been going to it on and off since 2022, and I haven't been aware of anything going on at Carpenters' Hall, location of the First Continental Congress.) So let's start there instead of the earlier-announced Muse Gallery (which is open for every First Friday); it's at 320 Chestnut Street. Reservations are requested, so let's make those individually through https://company.carpentershall.org/events/view/designphiladelphia-at-carpenters-hall. I'll post the rest of the itinerary closer to October 3rd.
Every first Friday of the month, a number of the galleries and other cultural institutions in my neighborhood are open late, with some of them offering food and drinks as well. :) If you're free on October 3rd, come join me at Muse Gallery (meeting location changed; see above), and we'll take it from there!
Here's the link to what's going on as of 9-24; more locations and events may be added:

By the way, there's a new venue (to my knowledge, anyway) offering a variety of experiences that night: https://www.oldcitydistrict.org/events/first-friday-gas-lamp-hotel. "Reservations are encouraged," the people behind it say, and while I don't know exactly what that means, :) I went ahead and made one for the highest number I could: 10.
