March First Friday Gallery Crawl
Details
I certainly hope that the above photo doesn't resemble what North 2nd
Street in Old City will look like on March 6th, but it does show our meeting
place, the Muse Gallery, at the right.
So far, six other locations are listed on the following web page as being
open late: https://www.oldcitydistrict.org/first-friday
Paradigm Arts Building, 12 N 3rd, 6:00 (closing time not listed; however, it's usually 8:00. This was one of the stops on the posted itinerary that we didn't get to on February 6th due to the time and our route combined, so I'd like to prioritize it this time. It has several floors! :))
Pentimenti, 145 N 2nd (I'd also like to prioritize this one because it was closed last time), 5:00 to 8:00
The Gas Lamp Hotel, 140 N 2nd, 5:00-9:00 (O.K., we also didn't get to this. For those of you who weren't there last time, I swear that we did make a lot of stops! :))
PII Gallery, 242 Race, 5:00 (closing time not listed)
Museum for Art in Wood, 141 N 3rd, 5:00-8:00
Arch Enemy Arts, 109 Arch (as is fitting :)), 5:00-9:00
Hot off the press: I just met and had a lovely chat with Lawren Alice,
the curator and co-founder of the above gallery. She told me that at
least some of the artists whose work will be up on Friday may be back
the next day if you'd like to learn more about them, their work, and
Arch Enemy as a whole. I live really close by and can meet any of you
who are interested back there at 1:00. (This may or may not get posted
as a separate event depending on a number of factors...)
More locations will be posted as time goes on, and when there are the usual number, I'll put up an itinerary you can follow if you get held up or have trouble finding us. That said, I'll email everyone the day before with my cell number so that you can text me before and during the meetup if you want or need to. If, by Friday the 6th, you haven't gotten it, let me know. By the way, I use the two options the site gives me, one of which is to email everyone subscribed to Organizer Special Announcements...
Finally, I want to mention that we were all invited last time, and four of us
went, to the Shabbat dinner that takes place at the Old City Jewish Arts
Center every First Friday starting at 9:00. You don't have to be Jewish to
attend; I was the only one of the four who is! :)
