March First Friday Gallery Crawl
Details
I certainly hope that the above photo doesn't resemble what North 2nd
Street in Old City will look like on March 6th (update: it's supposed to be
cloudy, but in the 40s), though it does show our meeting place, the Muse
Gallery, at the right.
We now have an itinerary! I'm including not only each gallery's (or other
location's) name and address but also the time it will be open. Much of
this information is contained on the following webpage:
https://www.oldcitydistrict.org/first-friday
1. Muse Gallery, 52 N 2nd, 5:00-8:00
2. Larry Becker Contemporary Art, 43 N 2nd Street (this will literally be a
short stop because last month's show, which the group did see, is still up),
5:00-7:00
3. Pentimenti, 145 N 2nd, 5:00 to 8:00
4. F.A.N. Gallery, 221 Arch, 5:00-8:00
5. Paradigm Arts Building, 12 N 3rd, 6:00-8:00
6. Old City Jewish Arts Center, 119 N 3rd, until 9:00, followed by the
Shabbat dinner (see below), though there are snacks set out beforehand. :)
6. Claudia Mills Rugs, 133 N 3rd--until 8:00
7. Museum for Art in Wood, 141 N 3rd, 5:00-8:00
8. Snail, 159 N 3rd, 6:00-9:00
9. PII Gallery, 242 Race, 5:00-9:00
10. The Gas Lamp Hotel, 140 N 2nd, 5:00-9:00
11. Arch Enemy Arts, 109 Arch (as is fitting :)), 5:00-9:00
Note: I recently met and had a lovely chat with Lawren Alice, the
curator and co-founder of the above gallery. She told me that at least
some of the artists whose work will be up on Friday may be back the
next day if you'd like to learn more about them, their work, and Arch
Enemy as a whole. I live really close by and can meet any of you who
are interested back there at 1:00.
I'm about to email everyone with my cell number so that you can text me before and during the meetup if you want or need to. If, by tomorrow (Friday the 6th), you haven't gotten it, let me know. By the way, I use the two options the site gives me, one of which is to email everyone subscribed to Organizer Special Announcements...
Finally, I want to mention that we were all invited last time, and four of us
went, to the Shabbat dinner that takes place at the Old City Jewish Arts
Center every First Friday starting at 9:00. You don't have to be Jewish to
attend; I was the only one of the four who is! :)
