A five night experience in Hoedspruit, South Africa where you will assist in the training of our wildlife scent detection dogs, helping on a project that we have started assessing our dogs abilities to discriminate between different individuals of the same species (giraffes). You will have optional guided safaris (included in the price) every morning, 5 dog training sessions (our dogs, sadly we can't accommodate other dogs at the moment), a guided bush walk looking for snares and the option of a day hike in the Blyde Canyon (R1250, not included in the base fee). Breakfasts and cooked dinners included, sandwiches provided at lunch time!
Please note, this is rustic camping in the African bush! It will be cold, the dogs can be physically demanding, but the days are gloriously sunny and an escape from Cape Town's cold and wet winters!
Accommodation is in nice, large Safari tents with proper beds. There is an ablution block and shared kitchen. A large pool is on-site (10m x 14m). There is a shared accommodation price and a single supplement of R700.
We do an airport pick up on Thursday evening and a drop off on Tuesday morning - Fly Safair do cheap flights to Hoedspruit from Cape Town and Johannesburg on both these days.
R5200 for the 5 nights, game drives, airport pick ups, food, dog training etc. Minimum number of guests 4.
Please note only over 18 and you must be comfortable around dogs!
