BEGINNING LEVEL CLASS:
We will teach technique, fundamental steps and all the essentials for beginning Salsa. A partner is not required, we regularly rotate students during the class. This class is perfect for both individuals and couples who are beginners or have no prior dance experience.

Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in Cuba. The movements of Salsa is a combination of Afro-Cuban dance. Cuban Son, cha-cha-cha, mambo and other dance forms. The dance, along with salsa music, originated in the mid-1970s in New York. Different regions of Latin America and the United States have distinct salsa styles of their own, such as Cuban, Puerto Rican, Cali Colombia, L.A. and New York styles. Salsa dance socials are commonly held in night clubs, bars, ballrooms, restaurants, and outside, especially when part of an outdoor festival.

Shoes/Clothing - clothing should comfortable and suitable for dancing/moving; please bring a change of clean shoes; if you don't have dance shoes yet, dress shoes are best; tennis shoes are worst (they stick to the dance floor and prevent your feet from pivoting/turning).
