Try this 3.9-mile loop trail near Wake Forest, North Carolina. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 17 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This trail explores part of the Neuse River shoreline and is packed with waterfront views. It is a well-maintained dirt path with plenty of shade and lots of roots to navigate. Enjoy the serenity as you make your way through the woods and alongside the water. Watch for wildlife such as turtles, deer, and all kinds of birdlife.
