The Sycamore Trail is situated within William B. Umstead State Park, and its trailhead is located on the park's northern side, accessible from the Highway 70 entrance. It is a popular park and can get quite crowded on pleasant days.

• Length: 7.2 miles (loop)
• Estimated Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
• Difficulty: Moderate (due to length, tree roots, rocks, and rolling hills)
• Allowed Uses: Hiking and walking (note: unlike some park fire roads, this specific trail is restricted to foot traffic only)
• Pets: Dogs are welcome on a leash
• Trailhead Location: Northern side of the park, accessible from the Highway 70 (Glenwood Avenue) entrance
